DrupalCamp Twin Cities 2012 kicks off!

Calling all Drupalistas! The 2012 Twin Cities Drupal Camp starts tomorrow! To help prepare we have a few house keeping announcements. If you have any questions regarding the camp please feel free to use the site's contact form.

This year we decided to level up and offer not one but TWO free trainings provided by Chapter Three and Advantage Labs. Trainings are taking place on Thursday May 17th. For those of you who've signed up, the Training day goes from 8:00am to 4:00pm with registration and breakfast happening from 8:00am to 9:00am. Trainers and mentors will be available starting at 8:30am if you need help getting your laptop ready for class. Make sure you bring a laptop, all training will require a laptop computer. The "Build Your First Drupal 7 Web Site Video Workshop" will also require a set of headphones.

If you're interested in signing up but haven't yet, head over to 2012.tcdrupal.org and use the sign up links on the right hand side of the page.

Each morning a breakfast of bagels, donuts, and coffee will be provided as well as some light snacks throughout the day.  Please note that this year lunch will not be provided by the camp. Each day during lunch attendees are encouraged to venture out on the University of Minnesota campus and have lunch at one of the many great establishments nearby. Grab a group of fellow drupalistas and relax over some great food, then rejoin us in the afternoon. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, there will be tables and chairs where you can dine.

Each day registration opens at 8:00 AM with the first session beginning roughly at 9:00 AM, and the final session concluding at roughly 5:00 PM. Please allow enough time to find parking so you don't miss any of the first sessions. Take a look at the venue page for road closings and parking info.

The session schedule is now available online at http://2012.tcdrupal.org/schedule. We'll also have video displays showing upcoming sessions stationed at the entrances to the venue. If you'd like a paper copy of the schedule we recommend you print one out ahead of time, or stop by the help desk and we'll see if we can get you a copy.

There will be a sponsor, speaker and volunteer appreciation party the night before the camp begins. Note that this is only for sponsors, presenters, and volunteers.  So all the more reason to sign up as a volunteer.

Friday night is the Opening Night Party hosted by Advantage Labs.  This party is open to all attendees! You're also welcome to bring your significant other as well. Registration is appreciated to help us judge numbers. There will be food, drink, open lightning talks and other activities. Sign up to give a lightning talk on Groups.Drupal.org. It's going to be a blast so keep your calendar clear and if you haven't done so already please register for the party here.

Saturday come celebrate the end of a great camp at Grumpy's Downtown.

We still have space open for volunteers who'd be interested in helping with manning the registration table / help desk during the day on Friday and Saturday. If you'd be interested in being a part of making this event as great as it can be let us know! You can sign-up online here. As mentioned above volunteers also are invited to our appreciation dinner Thursday evening.

Are two days of Drupal not enough for you? This year we are having a full day of sprints Sunday May 20th at The Nerdery. We will be sprinting on Drupal 8 Theme Layer, Getting Involved in Core, and the Media Module. Learn more about all the sprints here.
