Dive into the code at one of our sprints and help make Drupal better
There's nothing like sitting down and getting your hands dirty working on Drupal after spending two days waxing philisophical about the finer points of hook_form_alter() and HTML5. Join us at The Nerdery on Sunday, May 20th after the camp for a code sprint and get your hands dirty.
We've got a few options for you.
Get involved with core sprint.
Jess (xjm), Tim Plunkett (tim.plunkett) and Joe Shindelar (eojthebrave) will be running a sprint aimed at helping anyone and everyone get involved in Drupal core development. If you want to contribute to Drupal core but aren't sure where to start, this is your chance to get in-person training and mentoring from friendly, experienced core contributors. If you've already started to work on core, this is your chance to meet other contributors, hang out in person, and work on manageable tasks in the Drupal core queue. The goal is to help you help with core.
We'll kick things off in the morning with an introduction and some training, and then start sprinting on core issues. First time? We'll pair you up with others who can help you get your feet wet. Feel free to either drop by and work on just a couple tasks, or to stay and sprint with us all day!

Drupal 8 Theme Layer Sprint
Jen Lampton (jenlampton) will be leading a sprint, along with Károly Négyesi (chx) and others, that will continue on the work started at the sprint in San Fransico and in the issue queue (http://drupal.org/node/1499460) regarding adding a new theme system to Drupal 8 to help make Drupal's theme layer more robust and easier for newcomers to understand.

Please note that The Nerdery is NOT within walking distance of the U of M – so like, considerably off-campus. Ask around at DrupalCamp to hitch a ride – organizers will try to facilitate transportation. The Nerdery has not yet perfected teleporting but stay tuned.
